Según comunicó la Agencia estatal de Gestión del Tráfico de Lagos (Lastma, por sus siglas en inglés), el camión explotó en el puente de Otedola, en la sección de la carretera que lleva fuera de la ciudad, por lo cual se incendiaron más de 50 vehículos.

La agencia confirma que el accidente provocó muertos, pero no precisa su número.
Agrega que el accidente se debió a un fallo del freno del camión.
Según el periódico Punch, en el lugar del siniestro operan bomberos y rescatistas.
